Stockwell Day in verse: a tribute

From the Okanagan’s balmy climes
Came the prophet of “unreported crimes.”
He was fit and fresh: the Right’s Trudeau.
Nimble on lakes, and nimble on snow.
Trouble was, he was dumb as a brick.
Thought fossils were a Satanic trick.
With chiseled jaw and empty head,
With science texts left unread,
With fear of all things queer and gay
And, like Oz’s Scarecrow, a brain of hay.
He was the Natascha to Harper’s Boris.
Though half a million would call him “Doris.”
Without him, the Harper cabinet’s IQ
Has just jumped up to 72
So, a question we must ask today:
Who will miss old Stockwell Day?
